INT. HOTEL ALAMEDA CHAPEL - DAY

Saturday, the nineteenth of September. Midday sun cuts through high, salt-filmed chapel windows, bleaching the whitewashed walls and baking fifty seated guests fanning themselves with liturgy cards printed CLARA MONTOYA AND TEO BALLESTER, 19 SEPTEMBER. Near the terracotta aisle, white lilies wilt in the humid coastal air while an officiant pauses mid-vow.

CLARA MONTOYA, 27, sharp-featured and impeccably groomed in stiff bridal silk, clutches a heavy ring of brass hotel master keys against her bouquet and jerks her hand back.

CLARA

(whispering)

You are bleeding on the lace.

TEO BALLESTER, 34, sun-browned and athletic with an easy slouch in bespoke cream linen, catches her wrist.

TEO

A scratch from the tailgate. Take the ring, Clara.

CLARA

My father is watching.

DIEGO MONTOYA, 61, thick-necked and barrel-chested in a patrol commander's dress uniform, steps to the chancel rail.

DIEGO

Finish the vows, Teo.

TEO

We are doing them now, Diego.

Teo turns his wrist, pulling back his linen cuff to free his hand.

Across the runner, MAREN ULLOA, 29, lean and wind-scoured with twin camera harnesses, raises her viewfinder to her eye.

Through the glass, the focal ring snaps onto his wrist. Under the cuff sits a thin silver chain with two notched solder beads and a dented clasp.

In the third pew, RAFA GIL, 38, broad-shouldered and stooped in a cutting church collar, grips the mahogany rail and shakes his head once.

DIEGO

Photographer. The ring shot.

Maren does not shift her stance. Her thumb rolls the zoom barrel tight on the clasp.

DIEGO

Maren. Take the shot.

TEO

What is she staring at?

MAREN

(low)

Where did you get that bracelet?

Clara freezes. Diego steps down off the chancel platform, his hand dropping toward his belt.

Maren drops to one knee and holds the shutter down.
